SPANISH LYRIC THEATRE has completed 50 consecutive (since 1959) years of performances in the Tampa Bay area and still continues on today. This is the longest track record of any theatrical organization in our community, Hispanic or otherwise. SLT Productions, the English language division, has completed it's 20th season of quality Broadway musical productions.

In the over four and one-half decades of the SPANISH LYRIC THEATRE / SLT'S existence, we have performed in three separate facilities: Centro Asturiano, McKay Auditorium, and currently the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center. We have also expanded our horizons and now perform at various venues around the state of Florida on tour.

It is important that new generations and different sectors discover the beauty and enjoyment that the traditional music of Spain and Latin America have to offer. It is likewise important that the classics of the Broadway stage be preserved.

As the longest running Hispanic theatre company in the country, we are committed to engaging culturally appropriate Florida artists in our efforts to preserve their Latin heritage. As the longest running English musical theatre company in Tampa, we are committed to the herritage that is the American Braodway Musical.
